Howard Road has been my family home for over sixty years, a place filled with love, laughter, and generations of memories. Even after I moved away at sixteen, I would always return to visit my parents — this house has always been a true anchor in our lives.
When we were fortunate enough to make it our own family home, it continued to give us everything we hoped for. It’s a wonderful house for raising children, hosting gatherings, and filling with people. Some of our happiest moments have been spent around the dining table or out in the garden, sharing barbecues, Christmas dinners, and celebrations with friends, children, and grandchildren. The house truly comes alive when it’s full of people.
Howard Road itself is a warm, old fashioned community where neighbours look out for one another. It’s a peaceful cul de sac, yet only a two minute walk from the Market Square and the heart of town it has been the perfect blend of quiet living and convenience.
As we move into the next chapter of our lives, we hope that whoever becomes the next custodian of this wonderful home will enjoy as many happy years here as we have.

A spacious three/four bedroom detached family home in the heart of Wokingham, offering an incredibly versatile layout, a south-facing garden and exciting potential to extend further, subject to the necessary planning permissions.
Positioned on the popular Howard Road, this detached home is ideally located for those wanting to enjoy everything Wokingham has to offer while still benefiting from generous living space, off-road parking and a fantastic family garden.
The ground floor is where this home really stands out. A front-aspect living room provides a comfortable everyday family space, while the former double garage has been converted to create a substantial additional reception room. This flexible space could work equally well as a fourth bedroom, home office, playroom or large family room.
There is also a separate dining room, conservatory overlooking the garden and a spacious kitchen/breakfast room complete with a central island.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms alongside the main family bathroom and a separate WC.
Outside, the property benefits from off-road parking to the front, while the rear garden enjoys a desirable southerly aspect.
Perhaps the most exciting feature, however, is the future potential. Subject to the relevant planning permissions, there is significant scope to extend above the additional ground-floor accommodation to the side of the house. This could dramatically increase the first-floor accommodation, creating further bedrooms and potentially bringing the first-floor footprint much closer to that already enjoyed downstairs.
All of this comes with Wokingham town centre within walking distance, providing easy access to its shops, restaurants, cafés, schools and railway station.
For families looking for a detached town-centre home that already offers an abundance of space but still has the potential to grow with them, Howard Road is a property well worth seeing.
